When you say, “The Porter Center of the Performing Arts,” it just sounds good. This bit of alliterative musicality serves as a pleasing metaphor for what many consider to be the premier performing arts space in western North Carolina.
Located on the small, scenic campus of Brevard College, just a stone’s throw from downtown Brevard, the Porter Center has lured an impressive roster of artists to its stage with its outstanding acoustics and consistently high quality of performance.
A primary venue for the Brevard Music Center Summer Festival’s opera and chamber music productions in the summer months, the Porter Center Stage stays active throughout the year with big-name touring musicians, local and regional classical groups, regular performances by the Brevard Philharmonic and various student productions.
