Transylvania County is a hub of festivities all year round, offering a medley of unique celebrations that highlight our community’s diverse spirit and rich traditions. White squirrels, Old Times Street dances, vampires and witches, and Yuletide traditions. These are just a few of the things we like to celebrate here in Transylvania County. On our festival calendar, there’s one iconic event that stands out, embodying the spirit and uniqueness of our community — White Squirrel Weekend. This celebration is our homage to the beloved White Squirrels that grace our county, making it a truly distinctive and cherished event filled with live music, food trucks, talented local artisans, and much more.
Art Is In the Air: September
In September, the Art Is In the Air festival invites artists and art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in our breathtaking landscapes and create amidst the beauty surrounding us. The festival spans a week, with artists taking to the streets around town to create unique works. It culminates with a weekend street festival and art sale.
Halloweenfest: October
Halloweenfest is an annual celebration that conjures up an enchanting, eerie experience in the heart of our county. With live music, a thrilling costume contest, a variety of food offerings, and a host of activities for kids, it’s an occasion that embodies the playful, spooky spirit of Halloween in Transylvania County.
Light Up the Night: December
As winter approaches, Light Up The Night in early December ushers in the festive season, illuminating our community with joy and holiday cheer. The festivities include everything from visits with Santa to hay rides, food trucks, street vendors, and music.
