Take a delightful journey back in time to the old “Rosenwald” school days. A time of segregation at an all black school.  While we won’t be doing the traditional walking tour (we’ll save that for another month,) you will set off on an adventure! Discover what it may have been like to be a student during segregation days.  Learn from those who lived the story and know it best.

This “classroom” experience is full of interesting facts and fun. It is one that you will not soon forget! Rich with memorable stories, anecdotes, songs, games, devotion and our local African American history.  Every month bring fresh lessons and remembrances, so you’ll want to come back!  You will always enjoy lots of fun while you’re learning.  

“The Rosenwald African American Experience” offers a fascinating glimpse into the past.  It brings history and the Rosenwald legacy alive!  Learn all about the first school in North Carolina to integrate and the community members who made it happen.  Did you know that we also had the first integrated football team?!  Yes we did!

Your ticket includes welcome refreshments and a simple “student” lunch.  Bring your curiosity, sense of adventure, a desire to learn and a readiness to meet new friends.  Family friendly.
