At Earthshine, our guests enjoy being off the beaten path, but still in the middle of the best that western North Carolina has to offer! Our charmingly rustic eight-room Lodge offers guests that classic “cozy mountain lodge” experience, complete with stone fireplaces, a two-story dining hall, original wood floors with just the right amount of squeakiness, and two large decks with rocking chairs for soaking up gorgeous views. 

Each cozy Lodge room sleeps four and has mountain or forest views, a comfortable queen bed, loft with two twin beds (perfect for kids or friend groups), private balcony, and full bathroom. 

We’re proud of where we live and like to think local here at Earthshine, so you’ll find blankets from western North Carolina-based Beacon Blankets in each room and local art on the walls. Each morning, you’ll wake up to the aroma of Pisgah Coffee Roasters coffee being brewed.

We like to take our mugs to the main deck to watch the mist rise over the mountains and, every once in a while, we’ll settle into a hammock with our cup of joe.

Guests can also have a more intimate experience by staying in our dog-friendly Sunrise Cottage. The original farmhouse on the property is now home to three cottage units, each with their own separate entrance and key pad. Our East Cottage sleeps six and has a full kitchen, queen bed in the loft, two sets of bunk beds, a gas fireplace, full bathroom, patio, and fire pit with mountain views. The best part might be watching sun rise – from bed! Our West and Center Cottages each sleep four, and have gas fireplaces, a shared outdoor space with fire pit, as well as kitchenettes perfect for brewing a pre-hike cup of coffee and making picnic lunches. 

And speaking of food…we want our guests to be fully fueled for all of their adventures! All Lodge stays include homemade breakfast and dinner. Cottage guests have the option of adding meals to their stay during peak seasons. Start your day with vegetable frittata, pancakes, scrambled eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausage, or stick-to-your-ribs oatmeal and fresh fruit. Then, enjoy the day’s adventures without worry about what’s for dinner. Instead, end your day back on the mountaintop with our chef’s new southern cuisine, and a local craft brew or glass of wine as you watch the sun set over the mountains. The night sky at Earthshine is spectacular, so keep your eyes peeled for shooting stars as you relive the day by the campfire. Visit in the summer and watch the mountain glow with lightning bugs! 

With 76 acres, miles of trails, clear mountain creeks, fire pits, a fishing pond and activities like Blacksmithing & Brews, llama hikes, archery and tomahawk throwing, as well as nature and creek hikes, you might never want to leave the property! When you are ready to explore, Earthshine is surrounded by Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests, as well as the French Broad River. The famed waterfalls of Gorges State Park and Panthertown Valley, the “Yosemite of the East” are only a 20-minute drive. Head to Brevard, about 25 minutes away, for shopping (O.P. Taylor’s Toy Store is legendary), amazing restaurants, breweries, and maybe even a glimpse of the famous white squirrels! Asheville is only an hour away and makes the perfect day trip. Whatever you like to do outside – hike, mountain bike, fish, horseback ride, paddle or picnic, there are limitless options and we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
