DAY 2

Outdoor Adventure & Waterfalls

Rise and shine! Start your full day of exploration with a filling breakfast. Stop by Sully’s Steamers for a grab-and-go option, or let the morning linger at Morning Social.

Now, it’s time to see Brevard’s natural side. Go on a guided adventure to try something new (like fly fishing or rock climbing) with a local expert. Adventure Grown Guides and Davidson River Outfitters both offer once-in-a-lifetime excursions so that you can make the most of your time outside.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a sandwich to go from Pisgah Bakehouse, Blue Ridge Bakery, or Food Matters for a relaxing picnic lunch at Sycamore Flats in Pisgah National Forest. For more lunch options, check out our Eat and Drink page.

What better way to spend an afternoon in North Carolina’s Land of Waterfalls than with a little waterfall chasing? Take a short drive on Highway 276 to Looking Glass Falls for a roadside stop, then to Moore Cove Falls for a quick hike to a gorgeous, free-falling cascade. Log Hollow Falls is another nearby waterfall that’s worth the short hike. If you’ve caught the waterfalling bug after that, take a look at our interactive waterfall map for more adventure ideas.

Once evening rolls around, it’s time to unwind—Brevard-style. Look for our famed white squirrels on the campus of Brevard College, or take a stroll along the Brevard Sculpture Walk

End the day with a delicious dinner. Eat at the bar and enjoy a glass of vino at Wine Down on Main, enjoy live music and a bite at Cedar Mountain Canteen, or have a great meal in a historic setting at Grand Olde Station.

Before heading home, fuel up for your trip home with a tasty lunch. Rocky’s Grill and Soda Shop is a great choice for classic diner fare, Smokey Sunrise has mouthwatering lunch and brunch options, and Square Root is your go-to for world-inspired American cuisine.

The adventure doesn’t have to stop here—take the scenic route home. Hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway on your way out for sweeping mountain vistas to dream about until your next trip.
