Located in Pisgah National Forest, Sliding Rock has a lifeguard on duty from Memorial Day through Labor Day. This one gets very busy during peak season, so get there early to maximize your slide time.

Wintergreen Falls

Wintergreen is one of DuPont’s lesser-known waterfalls, but it’s still incredibly beautiful. The base of the waterfall is a good place to take a little splash after hiking.

Waterfall Safety

Waterfalls are beautiful. They can also be very dangerous if not exercising proper precautions. Nature doesn’t design waterfalls to a safety standard, so it’s your responsibility to do what is necessary to stay safe and steward our public lands. Leave It Better while you explore. Be Waterfall Wise, use common sense, and of course—have fun in the Land of Waterfalls
