Brevard, North Carolina, is located in Transylvania County in Western North Carolina. Just over 30 miles southwest of Asheville and 18 miles from the nearest regional airport, it’s tucked into the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Brevard is a vibrant mountain community known for our outdoor adventure, white squirrels, bustling downtown, live music, and numerous area waterfalls. In our backyard, you’ll find the Brevard Music Center, Oskar Blues Brewing, the Steep Canyon Rangers, Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Recreational Forest, Blue Ridge Parkway, art galleries, and more.

Brevard is beautiful year-round. From Spring’s wildflowers and Summer’s sunshine to Fall’s foliage and Winter’s sparkle, there’s something to discover every month. We see visitors from around the world who come to experience the fiery hues of autumn (check out our favorite scenic drives for some of the best color), and our mild winters make it easy to explore the outdoors all year long. Spring is especially exciting when the greenery and wildflowers of the forest make their first appearance of the year. In the summertime, the mountains come alive with the infectious energy of campers. Transylvania County is home to a large concentration of summer camps, so thousands of eager explorers experience the magic of our beautiful home.

Turns out, it’s a pretty easy drive to get away from all the hustle and bustle of nearby cities. Brevard is accessible from many major highways and interstates. If you’re visiting us from New England or D.C., hop on I-81. For our visitors from the Sunshine State and the Carolina coast, cruise along I-95 and I-26. Folks from the Research Triangle and Charlotte can find us via I-85. For our Tennessee neighbors, take a short ride along I-40 over the Smokies.
