Not all trails in Transylvania County are on land! The 140-mile French Broad Paddle Trail begins in Rosman, NC, and winds through 33 scenic miles of the county before continuing into Tennessee. With six access points, it’s perfect for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, or tubing. Riverside campsites, including some managed by MountainTrue, offer a chance to turn your paddle into a multi-day adventure. Whether you’re paddling or camping under the stars, this trail is a unique way to explore WNC’s stunning landscapes.
Sliding Rock
One of Pisgah National Forest’s most iconic attractions, Sliding Rock is a 60-foot natural water slide that’s as thrilling as it is refreshing. Perfect for families and adventure lovers, this beloved spot lets you glide down smooth rock into a cool mountain pool—a quintessential Brevard experience! From Memorial Day to Labor Day lifeguards are on-site, and a small fee applies.
