Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Brevard with an expanded two-day celebration honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

Highlights

Live music, a classic car show, a youth bike parade, vendors, and family activities, including a foam party and mini golf. Patriotic traditions will also take center stage with a flag-raising ceremony, a reading from the Declaration of Independence, and a community birthday cake celebration.

Additional highlights include a beer garden, Rocky’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, an old-time street dance with live bluegrass music, and plenty of opportunities to explore downtown shopping and dining. The evening concludes with live music leading into a spectacular fireworks display after dark.

Event details and times are still being finalized, and additional programming may be announced as plans continue to develop.

Friday, July 3rd

Festivities begin on Friday, July 3, 2026, with an evening street festival on East Main Street featuring local vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, and live music, setting the stage for a full day of community celebration on July 4.

5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Craft Vendors

Enjoy an early look at some of our amazing vendors during Friday’s opening hours on East Main Street.

5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Food Vendors

A delicious lineup of food vendors serving a wide variety of flavorful dishes, sweet treats, and crowd favorites to satisfy every craving.

5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Bike Valet

Take advantage of the Free bike valet offered by the Brevard Bike Alliance and not have to worry about parking. Located in the Fable Parking Lot (147 E. Main St.)

5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Beer Garden

Ceremonial tapping of the Patriot’s Pint including brews from Brevard Brewing, Ecusta Brewing, Noblebrau Brewing and Oskar Blues Brewery. Limited Supplies.

5:30 pm – 10:00 pm: Music

A dynamic music lineup featuring talented artists, diverse sounds, and high-energy performances that keep the atmosphere lively all night.

Saturday, July 4th

9:00 am – 12:00 pm: Transylvania County Farmers Market

Saturday morning market featuring produce, meats, baked goods, and other locally grown and produced items.

An outstanding lineup of vendors featuring unique products, handcrafted goods, and exceptional offerings you won’t want to miss.

10:00 am – 9:45 pm: Food Vendors

11:00 am – 3:30 pm: Transylvania Cruisers Car Club Show

Take a stroll through automotive history as you explore a diverse collection of vehicles spanning different years, makes, and models. From classic favorites to modern masterpieces, there’s something for every car enthusiast to enjoy.

11:00 am: Red, White & Brevard: America 250 Celebration

At the main stage, enjoy the raising of the flag, the reading of the Declaration of Independence followed by an opportunity to sign the Declaration of Independence. Enjoy a birthday cup cake. Be sure to get a good view for the Kids Bike Parade and cheer for winners. And be there when they announce they winners of the America 250 Window Competition.

12:00 pm – 4:00 pm: From Battlefields to Backwoods – Soldiers Shaping Appalachia

A powerful new exhibit at the Transylvania Heritage Museum celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. Discover how Revolutionary War veterans, including local Transylvania County Patriots, carried the spirit of liberty from battlefields into the rugged Appalachian frontier. Through artifacts, stories, and hands-on experiences—including our Revolution Era Garden—explore the journey from conflict to community in the mountains we call home. Free and open to all.

12:00 pm – 9:30 pm: Beer Garden

Enjoy local craft beer, seltzer, and wine. We hope to have one keg of each Patriot Pint on tap, so be sure to stop by early before we run out.

1:00 pm – 1:45 pm: Campfire Jack – Tales and Tunes from Patriots’ Encampments

A free presentation by Historian Vanessa at the Transylvania Heritage Museum.

2:00 pm: Pendergrast Family Patriotic Pops

Celebrate Independence Day with an exhilarating program of American classics and patriotic favorites at the Brevard Music Center. The Brevard Concert Orchestra and Brevard Symphonic Winds present rousing marches, beloved Broadway and film music, and stirring tributes to the nation. Highlights include Gershwin favorites, selections from Wicked, and iconic themes by John Williams, culminating in Tchaikovsky’s thrilling 1812 Overture and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever as we honor the birth of our country.

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: Diamond Dave & the Queen of Hearts

An hour of All-American favorites at the Transylvania Heritage Museum. Free and open to all.

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Foam Party & Mini Golf

Wander down to Broad & Jordan Street for a free fun-filled experience that guests of all ages can enjoy together. From dancing in the foam to friendly competition on the course, there’s something for everyone to smile about.

4:30 pm – 6:00 pm: Rocky’s Grill & Soda Shop Hot Dog Eating Contest

You can sign up to test your speed and appetite, or simply cheer from the sidelines at the Main Stage as contestants compete for the title in a lively, crowd-pleasing showdown. More information to come.

6:00 pm: Transylvania Community Arts Council 20th Annual Duck Race

The Arts Council is excited to once again bring you our Annual 4th of July Duck Race, live from Kings Creek on the Brevard College campus. This annual fundraiser supports arts programming in Transylvania County, including Arts in Schools and our Student Arts Academy. Stop by the Number 7 Tent to get your Duck.

8:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Patriotic Music Special

As the fireworks light up the sky over downtown Brevard, tune in to Frank Pearsall’s Patriotic Music Special on WSQL (1240 AM, 102.1 FM, and 97.3 FM in downtown Brevard). Enjoy two hours of patriotic favorites from—the perfect soundtrack for the evening’s fireworks display. Bring a portable radio or listen from your car while you enjoy the show.

After Dark: Fireworks Extravaganza

Cap off your America 250 celebration with Brevard’s annual fireworks display! After dark, enjoy the show from downtown Brevard and gather on Jailhouse Hill with a chair or blanket for a fantastic viewing experience. Watch as the night sky comes alive with vibrant colors and spectacular bursts of light, creating a memorable finale to a day of patriotic fun and community celebration.

Where to see fireworks in Brevard, NC

As night falls, get ready for the Fireworks Extravaganza, a breathtaking display launching from Brevard College. Fireworks will be visible from multiple locations throughout downtown Brevard, including Main Street, Jailhouse Hill, and the Courthouse lawn. The community is also welcome to watch from Brevard College’s campus, though there will be no official programming on-site.
