We’ve Joined The Outdoor NC Movement
Welcome to the heart of our mission: caring for our public lands, community, and visitors. Over 50% of our county is made up of public lands and we strive to be a leader in the effort to take care of our extraordinary natural resources and those who use them. We do this through our Transylvania Always Initiative, which has invested over $500,000 in local projects to reduce user impacts and ensure our natural resources are here for future generations. Transylvania Always also created two messaging campaigns, Leave It Better and Be Waterfall Wise, which promote responsible recreation and safety.
But our journey has taught us something invaluable: true hospitality means everyone is embraced, regardless of race, gender identity, ability, and more. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Black Folks Camp Too, fostering a safe and inclusive environment. We’re also enhancing our accessibility resources so people of all ability levels can explore our beautiful terrain.
United by these values, we’ve teamed up with Outdoor NC to elevate our efforts statewide. Let’s preserve our mountain paradise for generations, making North Carolina a destination of timeless allure yesterday, today, and forever.
