When does fall color peak in Brevard, NC?
Fall color in Brevard is typically best from the end of September through early to mid-November. Depending on where in the county you are, some areas will be more colorful than others.

How Elevation Affects Fall Color
Transylvania County has wide variation in elevations, with a difference of almost 5,000 feet from the lowest to the highest point in the county, and approximately 2,300 ft from Downtown Brevard to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Head to the Parkway earlier in the season for fiery hues near Graveyard Fields and Fryingpan Lookout Tower, and enjoy the color along Main Street in Downtown Brevard later in the fall.

Take a scenic drive on the Transylvania County Loop to see vibrant foliage at almost any point in the season, even if you don’t hit “peak weekend” – the loop hits several scenic spots at different elevations, from Devil’s Courthouse (5,720 ft) to the Cradle of Forestry (3,343 ft) and Downtown Brevard (2,200 ft), so you’ll catch the colors in different stages of change at various points along the way.
