WHITE SQUIRREL WEEKEND

We look forward to this event all year long. There’s no bigger celebration on our calendar than White Squirrel Weekend, held annually on Memorial Day weekend. It’s a street party like no other, with first-rate live music, local vendors, delicious food, and fun for the whole family.

One of the many reasons we look forward to spring each year in the mountains is the return of wildflowers to our protected lands. Throughout the forests and parks of Transylvania County, you’re likely to encounter a number of different blooms, from Trillium and Pink Lady Slippers to Bloodroot and Violets. Pick up a wildflower guidebook from one of our local outfitters so you can greet them by name!
