Brevard Philharmonic presents Christmastime in Brevard

The Brevard Philharmonic will deck the halls of the Porter Center at Brevard College on Sunday, December 15th at 3:00 pm. Get ready for a joyous hometown holiday musical celebration. The concert will feature the harmonies of the Transylvania Choral Society and the full, glorious sound of the Philharmonic, conducted by James C. Fellenbaum. Restorative Yoga While Painting

Enjoy combining the benefits of painting with the benefits of yoga in this restorative class. Students are guided in restorative yoga poses using props and bolsters while creating an individual abstract painting. Using their hands and a variety of brushes, sponges, and other traditional painting tools, students are guided in layering their painting with a variety of colors. No experience required! Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in. Paints can stain clothing. Please wear clothes that you are okay with getting paint on. This class is designed for individuals ages 14 years old and up. Weather permitting, classes will be held outside. Bring your own yoga mat or use one of ours. Chair Option accommodations are available for students as needed. Each Restorative Yoga While Painting class is different so sign up for more than one if you would like! Pre-registration is required. Women’s Backpacking Weekend Workshop and Trip

An introductory backpacking workshop for all ages and all fitness levels. This workshop and backpacking trip is for women who want to deepen their connection to the wilderness and build their confidence in the outdoors. Learn the basics from trip planning, equipment selection, camp craft, nutrition and camp cooking, shelter and site selection, map reading, and outdoor ethics. Students are encouraged to take a hands-on approach and learn cooperatively with their classmates, sharing their experience and enthusiasm. At the end of the in-class training, you will pack your backpack, lace up your hiking boots, and put your knowledge into practice with an optional overnight backpacking trip in the forest.
