Sycamore Cycles Swank 65

Sample some of Pisgah’s best trails in this great season closer – including the best trails at the front of the Forest! The Sycamore Cycles Swank 65 is MTB racing at its most primeval, far removed from civilization and polluted air. The race begins at 2200 feet, and consists of some of the best trail networks in Pisgah National Forest. Rolling over rugged mining roads, fun singletrack, tough climbs and hell-raising descents, the exhilarating course will test your skills and desire as you explore the devilish terrain of the Pisgah National Forest. THIS RACE IS LIMITED BY THE US FOREST SERVICE TO 200 PARTICIPANTS. Date: Sunday, November 14, 2021 Start Time: Packet pickup at 7:00 am. There will be a Race Meeting at the Start line at 8:55am. Every racer must attend meeting. You must have your shuttled items ready by 8:45 am. Race start will begin promptly at 9:00 am. Rest Stops/First Aid: There will be three fully-stocked rest stops on the course. The rest stops have food, Energy Drinks, and H₂O. We have a drop system organized so you can arrange to have your personal supplies at the rest stops. First Aid will be at every rest area and the Start/Finish area. The Couch Potato is an annual MTB race with a short enough course to make it doable from ‘off the couch’. Rolling over rugged mining roads, classic Pisgah singletrack, cursing climbs and giggling descents, this course will test your skills and desire as you explore the intoxicating terrain of the Pisgah National Forest.  Treating you to the finest trails at the entrance of the Forest. Good food, brews and a camp fire will be at the finish to comfort you after a long day in the saddle! White Squirrel Cycling Classic

The White Squirrel Cycling Classic is a classic fall spinner during fabulous fall leaf season. Starting and ending at the Tasty Weasel tasting room at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard NC! Riders bike on flat valley roads near the base of Pisgah National Forest. They’ll meander along the French Broad River before riding into Henderson County and then back to Oskar Blues. These routes will lead riders on a fully guided and supported bicycle tour of some Western North Carolina’s finest roads! Fully supported rest stops with medical assistance available and SAG wagons. Date: Saturday, October 9th, 2021 (Rain or Shine) Time: Mandatory ride meeting at start line at 8:50am. Ride starts at 9:00am. Packet Pickup: Registration & packet pickup is Friday from 5:30- 7:00 pm & Sat from 7:00-8:45 am at Oskar Blues Brewery; I.D. Required Amenities: Time clock, awesome rest stops with medical assistance available (if needed), SAG wagon, police assistance at 70% of the intersections for your safety, a well marked route, restrooms and so much more. The 7th Annual Dirt Diggler Gravel Grinder hits Transylvania County this fall! Starting and finishing at the REEB Ranch, this gravel bike race will feature a backcountry/gravel road tour through some of the best kept secrets in Western North Carolina. It meanders  through DuPont State Forest, gated private property, and ends on 2 miles of singletrack. Riders are supported with our well-marked course, chip timing, fully supported rest stops with medical assistance available, and SAG wagons. Off-Road Assault on Mt Mitchell

The Off-Road Assault on Mt Mitchell is a 60 mile MTB race with 10,500 feet of climbing. From Old Fort you climb up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and just below Mt Mitchell on beautiful Forest Service roads and unbelievable North Carolina single track. There are fully stocked rest stops approximately every 10 miles and you can send anything you want to the rest areas with our staff. Mt Mitchell peaks at 6684 ft and is the highest mountain east of the Mississippi river. The MTB race starts and finishes in the town of Old Fort, North Carolina and sits at around 1400 feet. Most of the climbing is on Forest Service roads while most of the singletrack points downhill! One of the best marathon distance MTB courses in the US! Do not underestimate the extreme difficulty and danger of this MTB race. The course is extremely demanding and travels over rugged terrain with extreme elevation changes. The forest remains in its natural habitat. It is not uncommon to see wildlife such as a wildcat or a black bear. Be ready to cope with any circumstances!!
