7th Annual Looking Glass Tour

On May 1, 2021, we’re offering up the goods on some of Transylvania County’s finest roads in The Looking Glass Tour! This road ride is the ultimate cycling sampler showcasing the diversity in the terrain found in Western North Carolina. We’ll have chip-timed results and plenty of rider support with awesome rest stops and SAG Wagons! This is going to be THE road ride of the spring and you won’t want to miss this 7th annual event. Sign up now to ensure your spot in the 50, 85 or 105 mile ride. This road bike ride is open to the public and a food truck will be on-site for riders & spectators. THIS RIDE IS LIMITED TO 500 PARTICIPANTS Time: Mandatory ride meeting at start line at 8:50 am. Ride starts at 9:00am. Packet Pickup: Registration packet pickup begins Friday from 5:30 to 7:00pm at Oskar Blues Brewery. Day of event will be at 7am. I.D. Required Amenities: Time clock, awesome rest stops with medical assistance available (if needed), SAG wagon, police assistance at 70% of the intersections for your safety, a well marked route, restrooms and so much more. Required Gear: All riders must wear a secure helmet at all times during the ride. Rest Stops: There are 2 rest stops on the 50 mile course, 3 rest stops on the 85 mile course,  and 4 rest stops on the 105 mile course. Sycamore Cycles Swank 65

Sample some of Pisgah’s best trails in this great season closer – including the trails in back bowls of Pisgah also known as Pilot Mountain! The Sycamore Cycles Swank 65 is mountain bike racing at its most primeval, far removed from civilization and polluted air. The race begins at 2500 feet, and consists of a triad of cloverleaf shaped loops winding around Gloucester Gap in Pisgah National Forest.  Rolling over rugged mining roads, fun single track, tough climbs and hell-raising descents, the exhilarating course will test your skills and desire as you explore the devilish terrain of the Pisgah National Forest. THIS RACE IS LIMITED BY THE US FOREST SERVICE TO 200 PARTICIPANTS. Date: Sunday, November 15, 2020 Start Time: Packet pickup at 8AM. There will be a Race Meeting at the Start line at 9:50. Every racer must attend meeting. You must have your shuttled items ready by 9:45AM. Race start will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Rest Stops/First Aid: There will be three fully-stocked rest stops on the course. The rest stops have food, Energy Drink, and H20. We have a drop system organized so you can arrange to have your personal supplies at the rest stops. First Aid will be at every rest area and the Start/Finish area. Restroom facilities are also at the Start/Finish. When will Rest Stop Items Return? Couch Potato

The Couch Potato is an annual mountain bike race with a short enough course to make it doable from ‘off the couch’. Rolling over rugged mining roads, classic Pisgah single track, cursing climbs and giggling descents, this course will test your skills and desire as you explore the intoxicating terrain of the Pisgah National Forest.  Good food, brews and a camp fire will be at the finish to comfort you after a long day in the saddle! 7th Annual White Squirrel Cycling Classic

The White Squirrel Cycling Classic is a classic fall spinner during fabulous fall leaf season. Starting and ending at the Tasty Weasel tasting room at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard NC! Riders bike on flat valley roads near the base of Pisgah National Forest. They’ll meander along the French Broad River before riding into Henderson County and then back to Oskar Blues. These routes will lead riders on a fully guided and supported bicycle tour of some Western North Carolina’s finest roads! Fully supported rest stops with medical assistance available and SAG wagons. Date: Saturday, October 10th, 2020 (Rain or Shine)  Time: Mandatory ride meeting at start line at 8:50am. Ride starts at 9:00am. Packet Pickup: Registration & packet pickup is Friday from 5:30- 7 pm. &. Sat. from 7-8:45 am at Oskar Blues Brewery. I.D.
