Following “White Lotus,” Min Xiao-Fen’s acclaimed score for the 1934 classic Chinese silent film “The Goddess,” she received a commission from the Smithsonian Institution to compose new original soundtracks for “Romance of the Fruit Peddler” and “Romance of the Western Chamber,” two historical Chinese silent films from the 1920s. Jupiter Coyote originated in Brevard with co-founders Matt Mayes and John Felty. Jupiter Coyote, jam band pioneers and cornerstone is the new Southern Rock world. Their sound has been labeled “Mountain Rock” — a mixture of Southern Appalachian boogie, bluegrass-infused, funk-rock. They have been together 30 years, played over 5000 shows, and sold millions of records and downloads. Nuthin’ Fancy is country-rock band originating from Brevard NC.
