Following “White Lotus,” Min Xiao-Fen’s acclaimed score for the 1934 classic Chinese silent film “The Goddess,” she received a commission from the Smithsonian Institution to compose new original soundtracks for “Romance of the Fruit Peddler” and “Romance of the Western Chamber,” two historical Chinese silent films from the 1920s. Known for her innovative approach to traditional music and her ability to seamlessly integrate diverse musical styles, Ms. Min will perform with master percussionist River Guerguerian, a leading figure in classical, jazz and world music. Jupiter Coyote originated in Brevard with co-founders Matt Mayes and John Felty. Jupiter Coyote, jam band pioneers and cornerstone is the new Southern Rock world. Their sound has been labeled “Mountain Rock” — a mixture of Southern Appalachian boogie, bluegrass-infused, funk-rock. They have been together 30 years, played over 5000 shows, and sold millions of records and downloads. Nuthin’ Fancy is country-rock band originating from Brevard NC. They have shared the stage with many artists ranging from country to rock to soul, including the Charlie Daniels band, George Jones, Little Texas, Marty Stuart, Asleep at the Wheel, David Allen Coe and list goes on. The band mixes originals with country, southern rock and classic rock. They enjoy bringing people together with good music and good times!
