A special Memorial Day event at our Friday Night Dinner and Music at the Lake Toxaway Community Center . We will honor all Veterans with a complimentary meal. We have a very moving presentation of white crosses and flags displayed in our parking lot, one for each of the Transylvania County Veterans who gave their life for our country. We will also have a presentation by the Veterans History Museum of the Carolinas after dinner. They will be dedicating their new book “They Answered the Call” WW II stories of Jack and Eileen Breedlove ! Books will be available for purchase at the community center and all proceeds to benefit the military museum in Brevard. Our impressive Military Wall is always on display honoring the service members from Upper Transylvania County through our the years.
We will be serving BBQ sandwiches, Toxaway Baked Beans, Cole slaw, Party potato casserole, dessert of your choice, iced tea, lemonade or coffee. $ 15 for adults, $ 8 for children under 12 and Free for children 3 and under. Dinner will be served at a special time this Friday only from 6:00 to 6:45 pm to allow for our Memorial Day Event Presentations.
The band playing this week will be Finkelstein Three a progressive bluegrass trio playing everything from Bill Monroe to the Beatles to Chick Corea. The music is from 6 to 7 pm , there is no charge to dance and listen but we sure appreciate all donations to help support our community center.
Our Bargain Barn is some of the best Thrift Store shopping in the area and it is open on Friday from 5 to 9 pm and on Saturday morning from 9 am to 12 noon.
If you are looking for something fun for the family to do on this Memorial Day weekend come up to Lake Toxaway just off of Hwy 280 at 81 Slick Fisher Rd.
