JANUARY
Take a winter hike in North Carolina’s Land of Waterfalls.
Winter hiking is one of our favorite activities around here, with long-range views, less people on the trails, and maybe an icicle or two along the way. You can even hike along closed sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway, as long as the closure is for weather and not construction. Plus, our shops are open all year for post-hike exploration.

Bring your better half on a romantic retreat to the mountains with a stay at a cozy cabin. While you’re at it, plan an activity together like exploring the area art galleries, or get hands-on with an art class.
