Join us for the Shindig on Main, a vibrant and community-focused celebration of Independence Day, held in the heart of Downtown Brevard. From 4 PM to 9:30 PM, East Main Street will be bustling with activities, entertainment, and patriotic spirit, making it the perfect event for families and friends to come together.
Shindig on Main is a true community event, bringing together locals and visitors alike to celebrate our nation’s independence in a festive and family-friendly atmosphere. Mark your calendars and join us downtown for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration filled with music, fun, and fireworks!
Downtown Brevard will also serve as a vibrant activity hub over the holiday weekend, offering, as always, an array of local shops with everything from unique crafts and boutiques to restaurants and art galleries.
Food Trucks will be on E. Main Street from 4 PM to 9:30 PM with delicious offerings to ensure there’s a meal and tasty treat for everyone.
SCHEDULE:
4 PM – 5 PM – Flag Raising Ceremony to take place on the grounds of the County Courthouse at the corner of Broad and Main St. A reading of the Declaration of Independence, given by local, elected county officials will immediately follow the flag raising.
5 PM – 9 PM – Music and Dancing in the Streets. Join us at the Gazebo on the Courthouse Lawn for Dancing in the Street. BYO-Chair to listen to the music, dance in the street and enjoy downtown Brevard’s Social District.
5 PM to 6:30 PM – Music by the Cody Hale Trio. Cody Hale, a singer/songwriter from Penrose is joined by his wife, Jonlyn Linville, who plays fiddle and sings. The duo has crafted their own sound through years of performing live music together.
7 PM to 9 PM – Steve Simon and the Kings of Jazz take the gazebo stage to continue the dancing. With his relocation to Brevard, Steve is known as the hottest jazz band in the coolest city inspiring audiences with their funky, soulful, exhilarating and amazing shows.
After dark – The best fireworks display in Transylvania County will be produced on the campus of Brevard College. Suggested viewing locations are Jailhouse Hill (Broad St. from E. Main St. to French Broad St.) and the Brevard College Campus.
