North Carolina In Phase 2.5
The state of North Carolina is currently operating under Phase 2.5. Executive Order No. 163 impacts bars, gyms, movie theatres, and other businesses that have previously remained closed. Governor Cooper has provided a Phase 2.5 FAQ sheet.
Curbside Pickup Zones & Public Dining
As part of North Carolina’s response to COVID-19, our local and state governments have taken the following actions. The City of Brevard has allocated on-street parking spaces in select locations to support downtown businesses and provide safe and convenient options for customers. New curbside signs were installed on Friday, July 17. View current allocations here. Governor Roy Cooper signed Executive Order No. 162 to extend the limited hours on the sale of alcoholic drinks at 11 pm in North Carolina. This Order will remain in effect through October 2, 2020.

Know that our tourism partners are working diligently so they can provide a safe and socially responsible experience to visitors of Transylvania County. As businesses reopen and access to public lands in our area increases, we ask that all visitors Explore Responsibly.
In addition to Exploring Responsibly, we ask that visitors join us in our Leave It Better initiative. By following these principles, you are actively helping to reduce the negative impacts on nature, our community, and wildlife.

Count On Me NC is a public health initiative that empowers visitors, guests, and businesses to help keep everyone safe from COVID-19. Count On Me NC businesses have taken additional training and implemented new procedures in light of COVID-19. You can help create a safer, healthier environment in Brevard and Transylvania County by following a few guidelines and participating in the Count On Me pledge.

We want to assure you that one of our top priorities will always be the health and safety of our visitors. For now, our Visitor Center hours are M-F, 10 am – 4 pm; Sat 10 am – 2 pm with friendly volunteers and staff providing an informative and safe experience.

Several campgrounds and recreation sites are open at Pisgah National Forest. Some sites remain closed and facilities and services remain limited. Sliding Rock is open 7 days a week between 9 am and 8 pm. For a complete list of trails, roads, and recreation areas that are reopening, click here.
Most trails and areas are now open at DuPont State Recreational Forest. The visitor center, public restrooms, and picnic shelters remain closed. Portable toilets are available.
All trails, campsites, and restrooms are open at Gorges State Park. The visitor center remains closed.
Some areas of the Blue Ridge Parkway are accessible for visitors to enjoy, however, a return to full operations will continue to be phased and services may be limited. Click here to access the real-time road closure map for the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The Cradle of Forestry is open Wed-Sun, 10 am – 4 pm. The Discovery Museum and cafe remain closed.
