In Brevard, adventure doesn’t take a holiday. With a mild climate, 250 beautiful waterfalls, thousands of acres of lush forests, and hundreds of miles of biking and hiking trails, our Think Outside Sweepstakes offers unforgettable opportunities for outdoor fun and exploration, with a charming small town as a perfect basecamp at the center.

Winter Adventure Awaits
Our local outfitters keep full schedules all year long. Sycamore Cycles, Squatch Bikes and Brews and The Hub can outfit you for cycling adventures this winter. Those looking to wade out into a (cold) stream may find the winter months an excellent time to hone their angling skills on the river or at workshops and classes offered by both Davidson River Outfitters in Pisgah Forest and Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman.
Winter Continues to Wow
As we all continue to reimagine the winter season be sure to make our new Get Out Guide page your first stop for information on any and all events happening in the area. Brevard’s thriving local art scene bustles throughout the year, with virtual programming through Transylvania Arts Council. As always it’s important to support local independently owned businesses in downtown Brevard, Cedar Mountain and Lake Toxaway. To stay up to date on happenings in Lake Toxaway check out The Red Feather Guide. And don’t forget to grab a delicious meal to go or pick up a winter warmer from one of Brevard’s celebrated breweries.
Those hoping for advance word on warmer temperatures might want to stay tuned for White Squirrel Day (Groundhog Day to some), in which Pisgah Pete, one of Brevard’s favorite fluffy mascots, will predict the arrival of spring, the winner of the Superbowl, and more.
