The Heart of Adventure Holiday
(Nov. 3 – Jan. 1)
Transylvania County may be famous for white squirrels and waterfalls, but this time of year, the spirit of the season—jolly, warm, magical—takes center stage. Enjoy a genuine small town Christmas, just like the ones you used to know.
Did you say Christmas trees? We’ve got the one you’ve been looking for. Bring the family, cut your own and make a day of it at one of our local farms.
Historic downtown Brevard is full of holiday magic throughout the season and a fantastic place to do your shopping at any number of our charming local shops, boutiques and galleries.
You can also catch traditional Christmas events and programming, like our annual Christmas Parade and Twilight Tour, Brevard College’s A Festival of Nine Lessons, “The Nutcracker” and a popular favorite, the wild, wacky, retro Aluminum Christmas Tree Museum.
And 2020 is just around the corner. Make plans to make your New Year’s Eve an unforgettable event at the 8th annual Oskar Blues Hootenanny.

A Winter Wonderland
Don’t be fooled by the season. Outdoor adventure still rules in early winter and here’s a little secret: sometimes the views are better after the leaves fall. Brisk mornings often turn into mild afternoons, perfect for hiking, biking, waterfall hunting or taking in the forest in December.
