“When Memory Fades” – Benefit Concert & Discussion around memory-related issues

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to change, Explore Brevard is doing its best to keep up with events that have been cancelled or rescheduled.
Currently, events in March and April are the most affected.  For now, we can assume that any events beyond that time are still scheduled to occur.

Brevard College Chamber Singers and Concert Choir and the Transylvania Choral Society will join voices on Thursday, April 16th, 2020 to present a benefit concert for the Western North Carolina chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. The concert will feature music written by living composers addressing the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease. The evening begins with an optional introductory talk at 6:45 p.m. with Dr. Edward Shaw, co-author of the best-selling “Keeping Love Alive as Memories Fade: The 5 Love Languages and the Alzheimer’s Journey”. Immediately following the choral concert, Dr. Shaw and others in the field will host a post-concert “unpacking” discussion.
