An event every week that begins at 8:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until July 31, 2019

When the sun sets during summer, who knows what nocturnal creatures call the Pisgah National Forest home? From blue ghost fireflies, owls and coyotes to black bears and tree frogs, join us for a night of exploration as we search the forest for anything nocturnal! Guide and local naturalist Bryan Suson will talk about who comes out when the sun goes down, then lead a night hike in Andy Cove in search of anything nocturnal, even setting up some special lights to capture a few insect friends. As we continue onto the trails, we’ll shut off the lights, let our eyes adjust, look for movement and search for our forest friends. This family-friendly event is one that you don’t want to miss, but please do not bring pets of any kind. They may scare away our furry and feathery friends! PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please check out calendar of events below to register! You will receive notification on where to meet after registration.
