The Soul Magnetics

The Soul Magnetics are a new band out of Asheville, NC that play classic sounding Funk and R&B. The demo, craft-fully entitled ‘Demo 2013′ is a short, punchy release displaying sounds reminiscent of James Brown’s “In the Jungle Groove” and The Meters “Chicken Strut.” The Magnetic’s present a clear emphasis on writing catchy, groove oriented music using early 1960’s style rhythm and tones.

Though a young group, The Soul Magnetics have made good headway into the scene rocking parties and smaller venues throughout the southeastern region. Guitarist Andy Link notes that playing live to them is all about keeping the crowd moving and having a good time.
