The Transylvania Farmers’ Market is a great way for the whole family to kick off Saturday’s White Squirrel Festival. Stop by from 8am to 12pm to enjoy live music, activities for kids, and a wide range of vendors selling local produce and products.
Kids of all ages will love doing a Scavenger Hunt. White squirrels will be hidden throughout the market and kids can see how many they can find to win a squirrely. In addition, there will be hula hoops, sidewalk chalk, and jump ropes… parents can enjoy some breakfast and coffee in our seating area while the kids play!
Live music by Bradford Carson & Co. starts at 9:00 a.m. Bradford will be playing from 9-10am, JJ Carson will join him from 10-11am, and he will play the third set from 11am to 12pm with one of his Junior Appalachian Musician ensembles.
With a focus on the bounty that Transylvania County has to offer, the Market has dozens of vendors offering fresh, locally-grown produce, meat, dairy, eggs, honey, cheeses, vinegars, pickled veggies, mushrooms, plants, herbs, cut flowers, baked goods, jams & jellies, hot breakfast items, coffee and juices, prepared foods, and a variety of handcrafted and artisan items from local producers. Throughout the season, the Market hosts a kids’ corner, weekly music, and events.
