The family of Bonne Jean Bertlshofer will host a reception in her honor on March 10 at the Transylvania Community Arts Council from 5 – 7 pm. Bonne was an original founding member of Number 7 Fine Arts & Crafts Cooperative – a program of the TC Arts Council. Bonne Jean has been a Basketmaker since 1984 and has also been an instructor at Brevard College and John C. Campbell Folk School. She is a member of the Southern Highland Craft guild.  Her most recent baskets have bases of agate, jasper, petrified wood or the fossil ammonite, nautilus. Bonne’s baskets will be on sale at this reception as a fundraiser for her medical expenses. The TC Arts Council is located at 349 S. Caldwell Street in Brevard.
