August 16
Plant Slant Potluck with Blue Zones Project @ 12 pm
Bring a plant slant dish to share at this Blue Zones Project Potluck on August 16 at noon at the Brevard Seventh Day Adventists Church. Our guest speaker will be Mary Ann Iyer, MD who has been at the forefront of Mindbody Medicine since 1982. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and with a master’s in Psychology, she takes a uniquely psycho-spiritual approach to healing. Since 1982, Dr. Iyer has focused on the “mind-body” connection – the ways in which our maladaptive patterns of thinking cause us not only mental distress but to make poor choices for ourselves. This inevitably leads to poor health and situations in life. It is the confusion of our own minds that causes our suffering. Her talk will focus on Frequent blocks to changes we want to make, and how to move beyond – to actually do what we know is healthy.
