Learn to read and interpret a topographic map and to use a compass in order to “stay found” in the forest. This class is designed with the beginner in mind. You will learn and practice the following skills: Reading a map, understanding contour lines, measuring distance using scale, parts of a compass, orienting a map with a compass, taking and following a bearing.
