Enjoy live music by the Maggie Valley Band

Hailing from North Carolina and Florida, two sisters and friends came together in the town they now identify themselves with. Each member learned their trade of music in the beautiful mountains of Maggie Valley, NC. Sisters Whitney & Caroline Miller grew up in a home where playing the piano was a daily requirement. The Maggie Valley Band has been influenced by a wide variety of artists, movements, cultures, and ideas. Each member grew up listening to and taking in the styles of various musicians ranging from the Stanley Brothers to Simon and Garfunkel, with inspirations from the Band, and more local artists like Rising Appalachia, yet adding their own personal style.

Their music has taken them from playing at bluegrass festivals in North Carolina with Ralph Stanley and the likes of him to Florida gigs, back to Asheville street busking, and local café performances. In 2008 The Maggie Valley Girls changed their name to The Maggie Valley Band. Also in 2008, the Maggie Valley Band recorded their EP, which sold all copies made. The Maggie Valley Band released their second EP on January 13, 2015.

With a focus on the bounty that Transylvania County has to offer, the Market has more than 50 vendors offering fresh, locally-grown produce, meat, poultry, trout, eggs, honey, goat cheese, oils & vinegars, mushrooms, plants, herbs, cut flowers, baked goods, jams & jellies, hot breakfast items, coffee, prepared foods, and a variety of handcrafted and artisan items from local producers. Throughout the season, the Market will host weekly music and events.
