Open to all ages, this program will cover history and forest management around Lake Julia as well as the life histories of the creatures that live in and around this ecosystem. We will be using equipment to explore the life forms around the lake, so wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty. Bring a towel, snacks, and water. We will meet at the Aleen Steinberg Visitor Center at 10am and carpool to the lake; the program will take 2-3 hours. Once we are at the lake, there are very limited facilities. Limit 12 participants and sign-up is REQUIRED by calling Holmes Educational State Forest at 828-692-0100.
