Young people between the ages of 5 and 11 who love DuPont State Recreational Forest are invited to participate in the forest’s first-ever Junior Forest Ranger program! Bring along an adult with you to experience this self-guided a scavenger hunt for information to learn about the work of forest rangers and the ecology and management of forests. Ranger Jane Dauster will be available at the Aleen Steinberg Visitor Center (89 Buck Forest Road, Cedar Mountain) from 10:00-1:00 to help get you started on your self-guided adventure! Program is family-friendly, requires about 2 miles of walking, and takes 2-3 hours to complete. Newly certified Junior Forest Rangers will receive an official DuPont State Recreational Forest embroidered patch. Bring backpack, water, snacks, and good walking shoes. No sign-up is required.
