Holiday Fest at the Transylvania Farmers Market

HOLIDAY FEST & HOURS CHANGE AT FARMERS’ MARKET

The Transylvania Farmers’ Market will celebrate the holiday season with a Holiday Fest this Saturday morning, December 1st. The event will also mark the first day of winter hours, as the market will be open from 10am to 12pm. (No sales before 10am.)

During Holiday Fest, stop by the market info booth for a free cookie from Tastebud Temptations, there will be a “Winter Wonderland Workout,” scavenger hunt for the kids and they will take home a prize, there will be hot breakfast from Culture Shock Food Truck, and dozens of vendors will be set up with holiday decorations and great gift options!

Plus… Children of all ages (parents and pets too!) are invited to come and have a FREE photo taken with Santa! The big guy will be arriving a little after 10am, so bring your camera or phone and the market elves will help you take the perfect photo with Santa… just right for holiday cards and other mementos!

Christmas is just around the corner so it’s a great time to start your holiday shopping, and who wouldn’t want a locally produced gift? Vendors will have Christmas wreaths, garlands, centerpieces, and small potted Christmas trees, as well as a variety of holiday ornaments and decorations. Jams & jellies, balsamic vinegar, gourmet mustard, pickled & fermented veggies, bbq sauce and pickles, pimiento cheese, handcrafted soaps, jewelry, teas & tinctures, hand-carved spoons, and candles make great presents. Stock your pantry with apples and other fall produce, meat, eggs, dairy (including eggnog!), mushrooms, festive baked goods, cheeses, fresh juices and kombucha, and even treats and accessories for your favorite furry friends.

In an effort to keep vendors and customers safe, and to allow vendors time to drive in and set up before the opening time of market, there will be no sales allowed before 10am during winter market. Winter market begins this Saturday, December 1st, running from 10am to 12pm, and will continue through the end of April 2019. The first week of May 2019, the market will go back to regular 8am to 12pm hours.

With a focus on the bounty that this area has to offer, the Market has dozens of vendors offering fresh, locally-grown produce, meat, eggs, honey, cheeses, mustard and vinegars, mushrooms, plants, herbs, cut flowers, baked goods, jams & jellies, pickles and fermented veggies, breakfast items, coffee, prepared foods, and a variety of handcrafted and artisan items from local producers. Throughout the season, the Market hosts weekly music and events.

The Transylvania Farmers’ Market is located in Brevard, NC, just off East Main Street behind Comporium at the corner of Johnson and Jordan Streets.
