June 10, 2017 - June 11, 2017

Book a half (morning or afternoon) or full day river snorkeling advneture with our freshwater biologist and naturalist and take extraordinary journey below the surface of one of the oldest rivers in the world. This new world offers adventurers the opportunity to see breath-taking underwater landscapes featuring diverse aquatic communities that include many vibrant colored fish, turtles, and the eastern hellbender – a salamander that reaches approximately 2.5 feet in length.
Our snorkeling adventures take place on the upper French Broad River, Pisgah National Forest, and Nantahala National Forest.

Customers float 1 to 2 miles downstream in a wetsuit. Wetsuits, snorkels, masks, and gloves are provided.
Why a wetsuit? Wetsuits provide warmth from the cool water, and protection from rocks and objects along the stream bed.
