I was born and raised on a small farm in Penrose, North Carolina. I am the son of David and Debbie Siniard. My parents raised me to have faith in God, love my family and cherish my friendships. I try to incorporate those values into my music the best I can. My sister is my number one fan
.and Im hers.Growing up in such a small town has its pros and cons, but I love it. Unlike many of my childhood friends, I chose to stay. I dont want to get out. Besides, my music needs this place and this place needs my music. I started playing guitar later in life after a career ending injury kept me off the basketball court my senior year in college. I needed something to focus on and to relieve my stress. I chose music. The very first song I learned to play on the guitar was Long-Haired Country Boy by Charlie Daniels, a song I still cover at shows today. The very first song I wrote was called Hand Me Down. A few weeks later I wrote, Dont Talk Crazy, which is on my acoustic album recently released.
My first show was in a small Mexican Restaurant in Brevard, North Carolina. Downtown Brevard is only fifteen minutes from my parents farm. I played for chips and salsa. My favorite songs to play during shows are my originals. I want people to know who I am through my songs. I want to connect with listeners and fans through my music. Besides, music is the most powerful form of communication in the world. Having a guitar in my hand makes it easier to say what I really want to say and to express how I feel.
I hope to be playing music for the rest of my life. God willing. Cody Siniard
