2019 will mark the 100th anniversary of Children’s Book Week! Children’s Book Week originated in 1919 with the belief that children’s books and literacy are life-changers.
The Transylvania County Library will have drop-in activities all week long (April 29-May 3) in the youth area from 10am to 5pm. See the schedule below. Plus, enter a drawing for a free book. You can even see some of the TC Library staff dressed as book characters on Tuesday, April 30. Stop by and tell us about your favorite children’s books and join us for all the fun!
Monday: Book Character Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday: Curious George Craft & Book Character Dress-up Day
Come see your librarians dressed up as book characters. You can dress-up as your favorite character too!
Wednesday: Mary Poppins Craft
Thursday: Winnie-the-Pooh Craft
Friday: The Very Hungry Caterpillar Hands-on Activities
