Join us for Cherokee History Day at the Cradle!
FIND Outdoors is sponsoring a Native American Heritage Month event at the Cradle of Forestry. The event will take place on November 11th and feature Cherokee Historical Association’s Tsalagi Touring Program. Tsalagi Touring will demonstrate traditional crafts, including beadwork, pottery, and more, and you’ll have a chance to talk to the artisans about their crafts. Throughout the day, there will be storytelling and Cherokee social dance demonstrations. A small pop-up gift shop will be at the event, where you can buy items made at Oconaluftee Indian Village as well as Cherokee-inspired products.
Schedule:
Cradle of Forestry Hours: 10am to 5pm
Event hours: 11am to 4:30pm
Cherokee Traditional Dances: 12pm, 2pm, 4pm
Cherokee Storytelling: 1pm, 3pm
