When Philharmonic guest soloist, Israeli-American cellist, Amit Peled, steps onto the Porter Center stage on Sunday, November 13th, he will bring with him the actual 1733 Goffriller cello once played by the legendary Pablo Casals. The Philharmonic audience will be seduced, not only by the sound of the renowned cello, but with the electricity generated by the cellist. Peled was acclaimed as One of the the Most Influential Music Professionals of 2015 by Musical America, and is considered to be one of the most exciting instrumentalists on the performance stage today. After his Lincoln Center debut, The New York Times raved about his glowing tone, seductive timbre and emotional phrasing that make you want to see him again. His interpretation of the Dvorak cello Concerto in B Minor, which he will bring to Brevard, is celebrated internationally.
