Set in Buffalo, New York in the 1940’s, Ancestral Voices, by A.R. Gurney, is a bittersweet story perceived through the eyes of humorous young Eddie, whose family is turned inside out when his grandmother unexpectedly divorces his grandfather in order to marry his grandfather’s best friend. Simultaneously the outside world is undergoing changes as we follow the family through the era of World War II. This beautiful chamber work is performed as a concert style reading. Paul Neuman, Joanne Woodward and Susan Sarandon are among the stars who brought these roles to life in former productions. This production is part of our “Curtain Call” series, performed in front of the curtain. FREE admission with a $5 donation appreciated at the door. No tickets or reservations are required, just walk in and enjoy.
